Reported Speech - Questions - (Wreck it Ralph) Edpuzzle

As I said in other pages of this blog, Reported Speech is very difficult to understand by our secondary students. That is why I created these videos about Wreck it Ralph.

They make it easier to understand if they see the reported speech into a context and most of them have watched this film before. As it is a cartoon film, it's very easy for them to understand the dialogues, so that they can do the exercises better.

This video includes Reported Speech questions, which are a bit complex. But they do them quite well. I recommend the teacher to put some examples first on the blackboard so that they can watch the structure before.

Study the Reported Speech in a different way. Here you have the link:

Reported Speech - First - (Wreck it Ralph) Edpuzzle

Reported Speech is one of the most difficult parts that students would learn in english. They are used to do the grammar automatically, so this part is more difficult.

As I want them to put into practice their knowledge about it, I have created this video in Edpuzzle with a famous cartoon film that students like, and it is also very easy to understand.

You will find that this first part is about statement and basic grammar to change. It is because it is thought for the first stages of secondary education, so they haven't studied reported speech before.

Conditionals I, II and III (The Hunger Games) Edpuzzle

After watching the two previous videos about the Hunger Games, they can practice the three conditionals with this video that mixes the three of them.

It is very difficult for the students to make a difference between the 3 conditionals, but they will find it easier if it is with a video about a film that they like.

Remember to take a look at the video first, and to answer the question before pressing continue. If you want to make a speaking activity with your class, I recommend you to do the video first and send the answer so that it would be faster next time you play it.

Conditionals Type I and II (The Hunger Games) Edpuzzle

After watching the first video about the Hunger Games to practice the first conditionals, you can also practice conditionals I and II with the other clip about the hunger games.

Students find it a bit difficult to make  a difference between these two conditionals, so if they know more or less what is the film about, they would find it easier.

You would need to complete the sentence and send your result so that they can be corrected. That is the way in which teachers can see the evolution of their students.

As it is a video about a famous film that secondary students like, it is very easy for them to keep learning the conditionals while doing exercises.

This is the link to practice Conditionals. I hope you like it!

Conditionals Type I (The Hunger Games) Edpuzzle

Edpuzzle is an incredible tool to create online exercises for the students. They can practice it at home or you can do the activity in class.

As you can see, it is a video that let you practice the grammar related to Conditionals Type I.
This is an incredible way to make students practice Conditionals Type I. As they are watching the short film, they will have some questions to complete related to this grammar and the film.

They are secondary students, so they are highly motivated because they have never studied the grammar in this way.

Kahoot Past Simple and Present Perfect Simple

Spanish Speakers find it a bit difficult to make a difference between Past Simple and Present Perfect Simple because the rules in each language are very different. that is why I have created this Kahoot.

I think that Kahoot is very useful for everyday teachers so that is can be used at home or in the classrooms. It is also very motivating for the students because they can use their mobile phones, tablets or computers to complete the activity.

As you will see, it has some questions about both verb tenses. At the end of the activity, teachers could download their students' results in an Excel.

Here you have a link, I hope you like it.
