I think that genially is an incredible tool to create presentations. Every time I want to make a speaking activity, I use it.


Social media and genially is an incredible mixture in the classrooms. Social media is something that is in our students' dailylives, so this activity is very effective if we want to practice more voabulary and also if we want to know more about our students.


As the vocabulary is put into practice, studnets find it more motivating and although they are embarrased, they try to contribute and speak English.

Secondary students like to be impressed and they also like to learn in a different way. As they have technology everywhere, they know how to use some tools in a natural way.  That is why I have created this quizlet about weather.


This vocbaulary is studied by the students in primary education, that is why they need to see this content in a different way. At first, you will se some flascards with pictures, description and pronunciation fo the Word. After they know all the vocabulary, they can do the test and games individually or in groups.

Modal Verbs for giving advices Prezi

Modal Verbs are difficult to remember and use for some of our studnets, and it is because they are teaching at the same time so that they don't have time to memorize all the rules. That is why I have created this prezi.


It explained some modal verbs so that students can understant them, it also have examples and a short explanation. I like to teach grammar in a deductive way, so students can learn it by their own rules. In this way, it is more difficult to forget them.


I found this prezi, which I think was very good, but I made some modifications to include a modal verb which I think is important to be studied.

Learn to-infinitive or -ing with this amazing prezi about Harry Potter.
As they like this film a lot, and they also find a bit difficult to understand the difference bewteen these two parts, I decided to mix both parts to motivate my students when I presented it.


The presentation is a bit simple because it has examples about to infinitive and -ing verbs with a short explanation. But first they need to understand the structure, the meaning and the context.

English Grammar Review Prezi

I created this prezi to make a review of the grammar in the classroom. As you will see in the presentation, this prezi includes all the verb tenses, and can be used in the first term. If you are working in lower levels, you can use it in the 2nd or 3rd Term.


You will also find a lot of exercises to make a difference between the verb tenses.


I have used a Prezi because students like it a lot, and they pay a lot of attention as there is another way to teach them the grammar.

Prezi about Relative Clauses

This prezi is very useful to study Relative Clauses because it explain both types (defining and non-defining relative clauses) in a different way and with lots of examples.
What I am trying to do with this kind of explanations is to make students understand the rules and create their own in their minds. In this way they can't be forgotten. they would also use them more in a natural way, if they are able to create their own grammar explanations.
As you will see in the following prezi, it is very complete, and with lost of examples that let students understand it. You will also find some exercises at the end of the presentation which can be done outloud or in their notebooks.

5 Páginas Web que enriquecerán tus clases

Hoy en día los profesores cuentan con ciertos recursos tecnológicos que no tenían años atrás. Estos recursos, en muchas ocasiones nos facilitan el manejo y control de las clases ya que los alumnos están acostumbrados a ciertos estímulos visuales.


A lo largo de estos años, he ido descubriendo ciertas plataformas que me han ayudado a captar la atención y a motivar a mis alumnos en las clases. Las que más utilizo son las siguientes:


1. Kahoot.


Una plataforma que he descubierto hace poquito. Es de manejo simple ya que puedes crear actividades en un momento. A mis alumnos les encanta esta aplicación porque pueden jugar entre ellos con tablets o con su móvil cuando están en casa. Pueden jugar unos contra otros y les van dando puntos según el tiempo de respuesta.

2. Quizlet


Esta aplicación es bastante útil a la hora de presentar vocabulario en inglés porque es muy visual. A los alumnos les resulta mucho más fácil acordarse del significado de una palabra si la asocia a una imagen que si solo la ve escrita. Está muy bien si se tienen alumnos con NEE en la clase.

3. Prezi


Es una de mis aplicaciones favoritas. Te permite explicar la gramática de tal manera que los alumnos vayan construyendo sus propias reglas, en vez de explicarlas directamente. Es bastante visual también y motivante.

4. Edpuzzle


Otra aplicación que he descubierto hace poquito. Me sorprendió por lo fácil que es usarla, la verdad es que todas las actividades se crean bastante rápido. Puedes editar videos de varias páginas de internet que te ofrecen, como por ejemplo "YouTube", añadiendo audios, preguntas, etc.


A los estudiantes les gusta bastante, sobre todo a la hora de trabajar la gramática.

5. Classdojo


Esta aplicación no es para crear recursos pero sí es muy útil para motivar a los alumnos a que hagan las tareas. Es fácil de usar también y puedes crear las clases y grupos en un momento.


Cada alumno tiene asignado un "monstruito" que va ganando puntos a medida que vayan teniendo buen comportamiento en las clases. También está la posibilidad de bajarle puntos.

Speaking activity about Art Genially

As I wrote many post before, I have created a genially to practice speaking in my classes.
If you follow this link, you will see an incredible activity about art which is a unit that they like a lot. The genially is divided into different activities.
In the first part you will find videos from youtube about artista creating their works of art in the middle of the street. You will also have some questions that can be answered outloud. In the second part of the genially, you will have some speaking activities about descriptions and games. One of the most important things is a video about Dali, he made it for disney.
In the last part of the video you will have the speaking activity to make the oral presentations in the classrooms. My students enjoyed it a lot.

Activity to work in groups:


- Divide the class into groups of 3-4 members.
- Explain to the class that they are going to watch a video about all the different countries.
- Taking it as an example, they have to choose a country in the world and create their own song. So they have to write important things about the country they have chosen.
- Finally, they have to explain their country to the rest of the class.

- Divide the class into teams of 3-4.
- Explain to the class that they have to write as many facts as they can about The USA. Points will be given just for those who have: The name of the state, the capital and the drawing.
